Registration: 9:00am to 10:00am
Walk and Health Fair: 10:00am to 11:30am
Awards, Pictures and Food: 11:00am to noon

WHY WALK? For a no hassle fundraising experience for your youth sports teams, church groups, school classroom, non-profit agency or favorite cause. Gather your supporters to come walk for a donation while generating attention to your organization’s needs in one great outdoor setting. Meet others and have fun without event planning.

Complete a walk packet for yourself or your team or call the office at 941-484-4811 for more information.

Bring your own table to share your materials and carry your banner during the walk. Winning teams will receive awards and have their pictures taken for the press and our social media.

All teams will receive a check for 50% of all money raised for their team cause.

Before the Walk

  • Complete a walk packet for yourself or your team
  • Make sure all checks are made payable to: United Way of South Sarasota County or UWSSC.
  • Determine who receives the money you collect. 100% of what your team raises will go to UWSSC, or 50% can be sent to a local nonprofit entity of your choice (Yes, your team will receive a check back!). Indicate your preference on your team registration envelope, in the “designation” area.
  • Bring a table to share your organization's materials or carry your banner during event.

On Walk Day

  • Check in at the registration table from 9am to 10am.
  • Team captains and individual walkers must bring the following?
    • Signed walker release forms
    • Walker donation/ sponsor forms
    • Money collected on sponsor forms must match the amount on the registration envelope form when checking in. Envelopes available at registration if needed.
  • Walk or run the approximate 2.0 mile route or go as far as you want, be sure to visit the agency tables.

After the Walk
Enjoy music and complimentary fruit, cold water and snacks during the closing ceremonies

Awards are then given out for:

  • Most money raised
  • Most walkers on a team
  • Most Team spirit
