Long Term Recovery Group (LTRG)

WHAT IS A LONG-TERM RECOVERY GROUP (LTRG)?

A Long-Term Recovery Group (LTRG) is a collaborative organization made up of representatives from faith-based groups, non-profits, government agencies, businesses, and community organizations. As a proven leader in disaster recovery, UWSSC and the Sarasota County Long-Term Recovery Group has successfully guided the community through the aftermath of major storms by providing long-term assistance and resources to individuals and families affected by disasters.

Sarasota County Long-Term Recovery Group (LTRG) strengthens disaster response and coordination across the community through preparation, response, recovery, and mitigation efforts, ensuring that recovery is both effective and resilient.

Get Involved: Sarasota County Long-Term Recovery

Recovery Takes Years, Not Weeks

When disasters strike, relief comes quickly — but true recovery takes years. That’s why UWSSC co-leads the Long-Term Recovery Group (LTRG) for Sarasota County.

The LTRG coordinates case managers, construction teams, nonprofits, and funders to:

  • Rebuild and repair homes damaged by hurricanes
  • Support families who lack resources to recover on their own
  • Ensure equity in recovery so no neighbor is left behind

How you can help:

Donate to fund home rebuilding and recovery projects

Volunteer your skills — construction, case management, outreach

Partner as a nonprofit or business supporting long-term recovery

Support Sarasota’s LTRG — help families come home after disaster.
